Quick Bites: The Pinewood launches Sunday Movie Night, local breweries expand, and more

Truffle shuffle over to The Pinewood (254 Ponce de Leon Ave N.E.) for weekly movie nights. The series begins Sun., April 2, at 8 p.m. with Goonies. Dinner, a drink popcorn, and candy is included in the $59 admission for two.

Wild Heaven Beer has announced the opening of a second brewery and taproom. The 21,000-square-foot brewery is anticipated in early 2018 at the Lee & White Development adjacent to the Beltlinebs Westside trail. It will have a large area outside for sipping their Emergency Drinking Beer and eating food made onsite.

Alpharetta is getting a Jenibs Splendid Ice Creams. The fourth location at the Avalon Boulevard East expansion opens Thurs., April 13, joining Dectaur Square, Westside and Krog Street Market locations. The opening coincides with release of a spring collection of new flavors like supermoon and genmaichai with marshmallows.

Mariettabs Red Hare Brewing Company is expanding in a big way. The brewery will open its second location in Shallotte, North Carolina, near Ocean Isle Beach. The new location will allow Red Hare to take advantage of the coastal climate and salty air during the fermentation process.

Tin Lizzybs Cantina (multiple locations) has a new beverage menu including an expanded Thin Lizzies list of lighter cocktails as well as craft coolers filled with six beers for $25.

Hapevillebs Arches Brewing is turning one and releasing special brews to commemorate. A public celebration party will be held on Fri., April 15 at their 3361 Dogwood Drive location.

There is a new oyster festival in town. Morningside Kitchen Oyster Roast is Sat., April 8 from 2-6 p.m. Chef Ron Eyester will be helping out at the space that was formerly his restaurant, Rosebud. ASW Distillery will be on hand for drinks to go with oysters roasted, raw and stewed.
