Guest Culture Editor: BOSCO

The Atlanta-bred singer/multimedia artist curates a look at style icons, games + more

It’s not often that we, the good folks at Creative Loafing, hand over the editorial keys to someone outside of our regular team but on the rare occasion it happens, we let folks like BOSCO take the wheel.
You may know BOSCO from her ever-evolving career as a singer/songwriter; she’s been cranking out soul/R&B/hip-hop/other sounds since dropping her debut EP, The Spectrum, in 2008, and she made major noise with the release of her Girls in the Yard mixtape, which she created with famed DJ Speakerfoxxx, in 2016.

All that said, though, she’s much more than just a music maker. When it comes to the creative worlds of fashion, graphic design and video production, among others, she’s always had a lot to say so much to say, in fact, that she launched her own creative agency, SLUG, earlier this year. Based in the ATL, SLUG offers services like event planning, photography, set design and more to a wide range of clients.

With a resume like that, surely y’all see how BOSCO makes the perfect Guest Culture Editor for CL. And her takeover couldn’t have come at a better time, as she’s gearing up to release a brand-new collection of songs titled b. on Aug. 11 via the Fool’s Gold record label. The new project features collabos with artists like Niia, Anna Wise and Atlanta soul duo St. Beauty (check out the video for “Castles” below).

So get ready for all the fresh music and while you wait, click through the links below to check out convos with locally based designers and style icons, as well as some custom-made interactive goodies.
