Quick Bites: Lil Yachty gets his own Rap Snacks, Staplehouse celebrates two years, Saltyard adds lunch service and more

A new flavor of Rap Snacks is about to hit convenience store shelves. Lil Yachty’s Hot Cheese Fries are bright red strips of spicy, cheesy goodness that match his signature hairdo. The Atlanta rapper joins fellow snack ambassadors Lil Boosie, Fabolous, Fetty Wap and the Migos, whose Sour Cream with a Dab of Ranch chips helped relaunch the brand last year. According to Yachty’s Instagram feed, his chips are the “best ones yet.”

Staplehouse celebrated its two-year anniversary this weekend in Old Fourth Ward. In its two years of existence, the restaurant, whose after-tax profits benefit industry worker crisis assistance organization The Giving Kitchen, has stayed packed and racked up countless honors. It was named Best New Restaurant (2016) by Bon Appetit. Both the restaurant and executive chef Ryan Smith were James Beard Award finalists.

Buckhead’s Saltyard begins lunch service in early October. Chef Nick Leahy’s daytime menu will include soups, sandwiches, salads and small plates. We dig that house-cured salmon board.

Speaking of lunch, 5Church Atlanta has started complimentary lunch delivery service in the Midtown business district. Now, neighbors within the 11th Street and 15th Street and West Peachtree Street and Juniper Street blocks can chow down on executive chef Scotley Innis’s lamb burgers, grilled chicken clubs and grilled peach flatbreads from their desks by calling the restaurant to schedule a delivery.

The team behind Atwood’s Pizza and Hearth Tavern is opening a new pizza-focused joint called Howell’s at 1952 Howell Mill Rd. Eater Atlanta mentioned a white clam linguica that sounds kind of magical.

Cocktail time! Decatur’s Kimball House turns four this month and celebrates with a party featuring a special High Brow vs. Low Brow menu on Tues., Sept. 26.

On Sept. 23, Carlo’s Bakery will open its second Atlanta-based kiosk at Cumberland Mall in Cobb County. This location follows an April opening at Perimeter Mall and will be number 20 for the brand, made famous as the setting of the hit TLC series, Cake Boss.
