SOUR GRAPES: Chamblee's beloved wine shop Le Caveau will be closed by the end of the month.

Sad news for oenophiles: Beloved Chamblee wine shop Le Caveau Fine Wines (5256 Peachtree Rd.) is closing at the end of the month. Or even sooner if inventory is wiped out by then from the 20 percent discount going on right now. Proprietor Eric Brown has long been known for his diverse and unusual wine selection, including organic and biodynamic bottles. His future plans remain unknown.
Taco Tuesday is getting better in Midtown. Cactus House, a Mexican taqueria, is opening July 17 according to their Facebook page. Located at 1020 Piedmont Rd., the menu boasts barbacoa, chicken pastor and fried avocado tacos. You can score some freebies too. During opening week, take a photo of the rainbow colored bench out front, post it to Instagram, tag Cactus House with the location and show it at the restaurant for a free taco or frozen margarita.

Tucker-born Golda Kombucha is the next gourmet food business to snag space at West End’s impending Lee + White development, joining Monday Night Brewing, Southern Aged Cheese and Honeysuckle Gelato, among others. Melanie Wade founded the fermented tea company back in 2013 as the first of its kind in the state, and has been expanding ever since. Her new 6,000 square feet space will allow visitors to learn about the kombucha-making process in addition to drinking in the taproom and buying bottles to take home.

Taco Mac is kickin’ it with a Summer of Soccer. Throughout July, all Taco Mac locations have special prices buckets of beer for large screen viewings of Atlanta United and CONCACAF Gold Cup matches. Starting an A-T-L chant is optional.”

Pop-up alert! Chefs Linda Harrell of Cibo e Beve and Jenny Levison of Souper Jenny will be cooking Israeli cuisine for two pop-up dinners. The first takes place at Souper Jenny Westside on August 10 and the second at Food 101 in Sandy Springs on August 24.”
