The Gifted Ferret Nov. 24, 2017, 8-9:30 p.m. Gourmet Chocolate Truffle & Wine Pairing This wine pairing event will feature a total of four wines paired with chocolate bites and handmade truffles. The wine selection will include white, red, sparkling and dessert wine. The event requires a pre-registration fee of $10 or $20 at the door. Details

South DeKalb Mall Nov. 24, 2017, noon-4 p.m. Black Friday BBQ Turkey Festival BBQ Restaurants, food trucks, and vendors from all over the state are competing for first place and a $500 cash prize in the annual Black Friday BBQ Turkey Festival. The competition takes place right outside of the South DeKalb Mall parking lot near the SunTrust Bank. For those confident with their turkey grillin’ skills, the fee is $100 to compete. Oakland Cemetery Nov. 25, 2017, 3-6 p.m. Malts & Vaults of Oakland: The Prohibition Edition Oakland Cemetery’s most popular guided walking tour returns for a special Prohibition-themed afternoon. The hour-long tour will begin at the bell tower and conclude with a complimentary sampling of local beer selections from My Friend’s Growler Shop. Authors Mary Boyle and Ron Smith will be on hand to autograph copies of the Atlanta Beer and Atlanta Prohibition books, which are available for purchase in Oakland’s Visitors Center and Museum Shop. Their will be over 10 wines to taste and each one will be paired with Spanish tapas. The company promises a “special treat” at the end of the evening for attendees. This is a strictly 21+ event. SOS Tiki Bar Nov. 25, 2017, 5-10 p.m. Southern Italian Night Craco, an old hilltop village in southern Italy, is the inspiration for this evening of Italian eats. Django Bancroft of SOS Tiki Bar is preparing a coursed dinner from a collection of family recipes, while the the assembly will be left to his mother and members of the Craco Society.
