Art Box Artist: Jose Hadathy

Jose Hadathy was born in Quito, Ecuador and currently lives in Atlanta, GA. He recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Painting.

After graduation Jose moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he spent several months teaching art and painting in the slums of the city. He now works full time for SCAD Atlanta, traveling the world and recruiting students. Recognizing that he is still developing as an artist, Jose uses his life experiences as tools from which he can craft concepts and ideas for his work. His sketchbook never leaves his side, and he isn’t afraid to experiment with different styles and mediums.

Jose was awarded the Goizueta Foundation Full Tuition Scholarship and his work has exhibited throughout the city of Atlanta, most recently at Thomas Deans Fine Art Gallery and The Consulate of Ecuador in Atlanta. He has also been featured in Perspectives, A Collection of Art, Art Impressions Publishing, January 2013, and on the cover of Colored Pencil Magazine, August 2011.
