Atlanta’s proposed TSPLOST projects, now in map form

Levy to fund bike trails, streetscapes, and road projects must first get OK from Fulton County

On Monday, the Atlanta City Council approved asking voters in November to levy a .4-percent sales tax dubbed the TSPLOST to fund roads, bicycle trails, and streetscapes — pretty much any transportation project other than transit. City officials think the tax could raise as much as $300 million. They say that’s enough to buy the remaining right-of-way for the Atlanta Beltline and install lighting, build multi-use trails and new streetscapes, and increase “capacity” on several roadways.

here are a few things to note. First, Fulton County must sign off the plan. Second, the project list is subject to some changes. Finally, if the measure is approved along with the transit tax in November, the city’s sales tax would rise to 8.9 percent.

he illustrious @cqholt, who created a handy map showcasing rail and bus projects that could be funded under a separate half-percent sales tax, has done the same for the T-SPLOST. Enjoy! Bonus points for anyone who spots a project that should be funded by the infrastructure bond.
