Piece on wall outside Rag-o-Rama features Hepburn, Jackson, Fawcett and Gaga
Local artist Patreece Lewis puts the finishing touches on her mural outside Rag-O-Rama in Little Five Points. Lewis collaborated with the local clothing store to create a mural which would highlight “Fashion Through the Ages.” The huge piece contains larger-than-life paintings of fashion and cultural icons, including: Audrey Hepburn, Run from Run DMC, Tina Turner, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Grace Jones and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, among others. According to Lewis, it’s the neighborhood’s first hand-painted mural of its size in many years. Lewis has been working on the mural for 18 days and plans on finishing it today. “I hope it will be up for at least 50 years,” she said this morning. As for her own fashion tastes: “I am just a shorts, tennis shoes and t-shirt kind of girl.”
