Quick Bites: Monday Night Brewing plans Beltline brewery, Concentrics replaces Lobby and Room, and more

Got an idea for the name for Monday Night Brewing’s new Beltline outpost? The team wants help from the public to name its new digs, slated to open summer of 2017 along the Beltline’s southwest corridor. The new facility is currently under construction in the $30 million Lee + White Development at the corner of Lee and White streets.

The Infinite Dining Group, owner operators of Sage Woodfire Tavern Alpharetta and Sage Social Kitchen and Bar East Cobb, are opening a Sage Social Kitchen and Bar at 3379 Peachtree Road in the former Morton’s steakhouse space. The new restaurant is slated to open in early 2017 with menu offerings such as fresh fish, seafood, hand-cut steaks, pastas, burgers, and more.

Decatur’s Kimball House is featured in the October/November issue of Garden & Gun magazine in “Give ‘Em Shell,” former AJC food critic John Kessler’s piece on his favorite new raw bars across the South. Kessler wrote, “Kimball House set the tone for the next generation of Southern oyster bars, and today the region is home to an ever-growing number of stylish exemplars.”

In commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Oscar Mendivil (Tapa Tapa), Mikiel Arnold (The Freakin Incan), and other notable local chefs will display their culinary talents on Fri., Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at Le Fais Do-Do (1611 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd,, Suite D). The 15th annual Celebrating Our Heritage Dinner will also include live entertainment, a silent auction of Latin American art. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the nonprofit organization Ser Familia.

Midtown’s the Crazy Cuban has temporarily closed after a fire. The building’s roof sustained most of the damage, but the owners of the popular 14th Street eatery say they plan to reopen before Christmas.

Atlanta restaurant impresario Bob Amick says his Concentrics Restaurants group will replace the Lobby and Room concepts in the former Twelve Hotels with two brand new concepts. Amick said the restaurants will get new names, new chefs, and new décor beginning next year to coincide with the hotels transferring ownership to Hilton Hotels.

International mini burger chain Burgerim (pronounced “burger rim”) is coming to Midtown. The California-based chain, which has 170 locations around the world, has signed a lease to open its first location in the Southeast at the Shops at Metropolis. The Midtown space will feature live music as well as the chain’s 15 flavors of its 2.8 ounce mini burger.
