H. Harper Station Sat., May 2, 3 p.m. Derby Day 2015 H. Harper Station is hosting a Kentucky Derby party. The ticket price will include woodford reserve mint juleps, and other Derby-inspired drinks; a buffet of hot browns, benedictine sandwiches, and more. Guests can also play cornhole, and compete to win prizes for the best dressed gentleman and woman. A big-screen will be set-up for the derby race viewing. Details

Cook Hall Sat., May 2, 4-8 p.m. Third Annual Kentucky Derby Viewing Party Watch the Kentucky Derby live and enjoy Derby-inspired blackboard specials from chef David Gross, four roses mint juleps, and live music. La Tavola Trattoria Through May 2, 5-11 p.m. Mezzogiorno Sample the flavors of the Mezzogiorno region of Italy with a limited-time a-la-carte menu. La Tavola will celebrate the region’s rustic coastal cuisine with a special menu in addition to many signature dinner plates. Highlights of the Mezzogiorno-inspired menu include almond cavatelli with broccoli rabe pesto, Calabrian chiles and ricotta salata, whole grilled branzino with grilled lemon, arugula and radish and pistachio meringue with fig gelato and honey reduction. Grant Park Farmers Market Sun., May 3, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Chef’s Demo with Virginia Willis Join executive chef and author Virgina Willis at Grant Park’s farmers market for a chef demo. She will sample a recipe from her book Lighten Up, Y’all, and make her own “Southern stir-fry,” made with veggies from the market and served over grits. Chef Willis will also be signing copies of her book with the help of Cook’s Warehouse. Details
